The Loopler Charms Guide
Charms are where many runs stop feeling generic. They are passive, but they are not small. Good charm shopping quietly solves huge problems; bad charm shopping creates clutter or pushes you into under-supported gimmicks.

Quick answer: the best charms either strengthen your existing engine or patch a real weakness. Treat ghost-heavy charm lines as lower-confidence options unless the run clearly pushes you there.
What makes a charm good
A good charm does one of three things: it fixes a weakness, improves a core system you already use, or scales cleanly with the run you are building.
In community gameplay, charms that interact with gate echo, better shopping, stable scaling, or highly reusable bonuses tend to be described much more positively than charms that require awkward setups.
Charm themes that look safest right now
- Economy and shop help: pit stop discounts and cleaner spending support almost every archetype.
- Gate-related support: repeated player praise around gate echo synergies suggests these are often worth attention.
- Score support: good whenever it stays broad enough to matter in many loops.
- Fuel or durability support: valuable when the run is stable but fragile.
Official patch notes also show the developer tweaking charm behavior, which is a reminder to keep an eye on updates.
Stackables, non-stackables, and clutter
One useful pattern in community gameplay: even good stackable charms can become shop clutter if they crowd out more urgent purchases. In other words, “it scales” does not automatically mean “buy every copy.”
The best time to stack a charm is when you are already sure that charm supports the run’s main engine, not when you are still guessing what the build even is.
Ghost-related charm caution
Current player reports are pretty blunt: ghost-centered setups are generally viewed as weaker than the main gold, fuel, or speed/score archetypes in the current version. Some ghost charms can do respectable score work in the right niche, but the overall theme is usually treated as secondary or challenge-run material.
Because that assessment comes from player discussion rather than a developer statement, we keep it labeled as a current player report, not an official balance verdict.
Charm shopping rules that save runs
- Buy broad utility before niche expression.
- Do not turn every run into a reroll circus.
- If a charm does not improve your next several rounds, make sure it has a very high later payoff.
- When in doubt, buy the charm that supports the run you already have, not the run you wish you had.
